Devices running NthPlayer use a technology called zero configuration networking so DVD players, TVs, or other devices with NthPlayer software instantly configure when connected to home networks.
Zero configuration networking is 100% automatic for wired networks. For WiFi networks, NthPlayer only needs to know the wireless network's name – chosen from a list of found networks – and password.
Users can also configure NthPlayer's network manually. This allows devices running NthPlayer to run in offices and other environments where network administrators require tighter control of network resources.
NthCode player automatically finds and connects to shared folders on the network using the common Samba and UPnP file sharing protocols. If there is a shared folder on just about any computer made in the last decade anywhere on the local network, NthPlayer will find it.
A Windows user only needs to right click on a folder, select sharing, and enable access. NthPlayer will then automatically find the media inside. The folder-sharing process is similar for Mac and Unix machines.
For consumers, NthPlayer eliminates software installation and compatibility headaches. For electronics companies, NthPlayer removes the need to provide – and support – additional software with their devices.
